Shannon’s Guestbook

This guestbook has been created for anyone to leave words of encouragement or other messages for Shannon during her treatment. The outpouring of support and comments through Facebook and personal calls and e-mails has been tremendous. We hope this will compliment, rather than replace those efforts. Please leave a comment below, or use the links at the right to navigate other sections of the blog.

Update: As of June 2011, Shannon has completed all of her treatments and is now in full-on survivor recovery mode. She’s cancer free and we’re keeping our fingers crossed.

Update: January 2012. Last October we had a minor setback. While all of Shannon’s recent PET scans have been clean and there is no sign of cancer whatsoever (woo hoo!), she is beginning to feel the aftereffects of the radiation treatment. She was diagnosed with radiation pneumonitis (lung inflamation) last fall, and treated with steroids. The inflammation has subsided, but there is still residual pain from the radiation and surrounding scar tissue. We’re moving into 2012 with a positive attitude, but believe me the last several months have been hard to keep a smile on our faces. But we thank you all for your continued love and support. It means a lot.

    Thanks for the great updates.

Shannon, I’ve been praying for your health; you’ve just got to get well … that’s an order. I suppose that and a $1.50 might get me a cup of coffee 🙂

Just know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. It sounds like the Chemo is being tuff on ya … I think it generally starts out that way. Hopefully, you’ll be feeling much better soon.

We miss you and tha big smile kiddo … Hang in there.
